ENCAD® GRAPHIC OUTDOOR (GO) MATCHED SYSTEM™ WARRANTY

GO MATCHED SYSTEM COMPONENTS

The GO Matched System components consists of ENCAD NovaJet printer, GO inks, KODAK GO media, and KODAK GO Laminates. All components have been scientifically matched to provide optimum longevity, productivity, durability, and image quality. All components of the GO Matched System, with the exception of GO laminates MUST be used for printing the image for the GO Warranty to be in effect.

WARRANTY:

Outdoor exposure, including exposure to UV radiation, moisture, oxidation and chemical pollutants all influence the final outdoor longevity of a graphic image. Subject to the terms and conditions below, ENCAD, Inc - A Kodak Company warrants that the effects of these exposures will not affect the quality and suitability of the graphic image, based upon accepted industry test standards, for advertising purposes and other customary outdoor display uses. Specifically, ENCAD warrants its Graphic Outdoor Matched System images against excessive fading, peeling, cracking, yellowing, bleeding and running for the following warranty periods (subject to the conditions set forth below):

GO Water-Resistant Vinyl System

• 48 months outdoor exposure when laminated with GO Cast (Gloss or Matte) Laminates (only)*
• 18 months outdoor exposure when laminated with GO Calendered Laminates (Lustre)
• 6 months outdoor exposure - unlaminated

GO LumaTrans Backlit Film

• 12 months outdoor exposure - unlaminated. Must be protected by Plexiglass™, Lexan™, or similar sheet.

GO Multi-Purpose Vinyl

• 24 months outdoor exposure when laminated with GO Cast (Gloss or Matte) Laminates (only)*
• 9 months outdoor exposure when laminated with GO Calendered Laminates (Lustre)
• 4 months outdoor exposure - unlaminated

GO Reinforced Vinyl

• 6 months outdoor exposure - unlaminated

GO Polyethylene Banner

• 5 months outdoor exposure - unlaminated

GO Tyvek™

• 3 months outdoor exposure - unlaminated

Printer compatibility

Warranty coverage is limited to images created with the following printers:

** GO Octachrome Ink - Prints using GO Octachrome Ink, GO Media, & ENCAD 800 series Printer are warranted for one half the above stated warranty periods. This warranty period is subject to change pending further test results.

Processing Conditions

• All processing and installation conditions listed in Product Data Sheets and Application Notes must be followed or warranty will be voided. The following sections highlight some of these requirements; however, please consult the relevant Product Data Sheets and Application Notes for additional, more detailed requirements and any updates, revisions or modifications to the requirements listed below.

• All materials should be tested for the application in which they will be used, following the recommendations contained in this warranty, and other ENCAD publications concerning equipment, processing, techniques, or chemical products. Users are responsible to first satisfy themselves that they can comply with all processing and installation requirements and that the product is suitable for the User’s intended purpose, including any safety and health standards applicable to the use of the final product.

Processing Conditions Necessary for 48/24/18 Month Laminated Warranty for GO Water-Resistant Vinyl System

Certain requirements in processing a final image are necessary in order for this warranty to apply. For detailed instructions, refer to ENCAD Application Note #2 "Laminating." This note requires, among other things, that all final images have a laminated, sealed edge of 0.25 in. (0.63 cm) surrounding the image in order to qualify for warranty coverage.

Warranty Limitations and Exclusions

Installation Conditions Required for GO Media Products Warranty Coverage

Installation Conditions for all GO Media:

• Flat surface with minimum to no curvature
• Substrate mounted with 0-5 degree tilt

Installation Conditions for GO Water-Resistant Vinyl System

• Mounting on a smooth surface
• Environmental conditions at time of mounting must have a humidity range of 30-60%
• Temperature range at time of mounting 50° - 86°F (10° - 30°C)

WARRANTY LIMITATIONS AND EXCLUSIONS

Conditional Environmental Exposure

For desert areas and areas of extreme UV exposure, the GO system warranty for GO Water-Resistant Vinyl with GO Cast Laminates is limited to 2 years (24 months) outdoor.

Acceptable Quality

Slight fading of colors, cracking, peeling, blemishes, yellowing, bleeding or ink running within the accepted industry test standards used by ENCAD are to be expected and are not covered by this warranty. This warranty also does not apply to damage caused by extreme or unusual environmental exposures.

Non-Compliance with Conditions

Failure to comply with all processing and installation conditions listed in Product Data Sheets and Application Notes will void this warranty.

Conditional Materials Usage

Warranty protection is limited to the GO system and the GO system components as defined above. Since ENCAD does not control the specifications or quality of non-ENCAD products, ENCAD does not offer a warranty for graphic images produced with other manufacturer’s consummable products, nor does ENCAD warrant that such products will be compatible with ENCAD products. The User assumes all responsibility and risk of loss for damages, defects or images of unacceptable quality resulting from the use of non-ENCAD consummable products.

Conditional Equipment Usage

Warranty protection is limited to images created with the ENCAD NovaJet and NovaCut Series printers as listed above.

Shelf Life

All ENCAD GO materials have a one-year shelf life. Materials whose shelf-life have expired are not covered by this warranty. Materials exposed beyond the environmental limits as stated in the product data sheets are not covered by the warranty.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

ENCAD's liability is limited to replacement of defective materials only.

THIS WARRANTY IS INTENDED TO REPLACE ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR ANY INDUSTRY PRACTICE, OR CUSTOM OR TRADE USAGE. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHALL ENCAD BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOST PROFITS, REVENUE OR BUSINESS, ARISING FROM THE PERFORMANCE, USE OR INABILITY TO USE ANY ENCAD GO PRODUCT. Defects or failures caused by acts of God, war, extreme weather conditions or other forces or conditions beyond ENCAD's control are not covered by this warranty.

This warranty is subject to revision at ENCAD's sole discretion.

CLAIM PROCEDURE

To initiate a claim, an ENCAD GO Warranty Claim Form must be completed in its entirety. Failure to provide necessary information - samples, dates, lot numbers, processing conditions, and other requested information - will result in a delay in claim processing and may result in denial of a claim.

Call ENCAD for a Warranty Claim Form. Fill out the Warranty Claim Form and send it to ENCAD along with samples, photographs, etc. In order to qualify for warranty coverage, claims arising during the warranty period must be properly submitted to ENCAD no later than three months after expiration of the warranty period.
