Three Great Inkjet
Printing Solutions for Indoor and Outdoor Applications
Now there are three KODAK PROFESSIONAL Large Format
Inkjet Printers in our 3000 Series.
These piezo-electric inkjet
printers are part of fully integrated Kodak solutions
that include RIP software, inks, media, and laminates.
The result-a superior combination of quality, flexibility,
and value.
The KODAK PROFESSIONAL Large Format
3043 Inkjet Printer
This printer reaffirms Kodak's leadership in professional
quality digital output. It offers six-ink printing (cyan,
light cyan, magenta, light magenta, yellow, and black;
dye or pigmented inks) for spectacular images up to
43 inches across. You'll appreciate the wide color
gamut and reduced visibility of dots in lighter-density
areas of cyan and magenta-especially sky and skin tones.
An additional two pigmented inks are available (orange
and green), enabling significant increases in color
gamut versus 4-ink printing.
The KODAK PROFESSIONAL Large Format
3038 Inkjet Printer
This four-ink printer (cyan, magenta, yellow, and black-either
pigmented or dye inks) delivers very high quality results
on media up to 38 inches wide.
The KODAK PROFESSIONAL Large Format
3062 Inkjet Printer
The latest of the KODAK PROFESSIONAL Large Format 3000
series inkjet printers, this printer opens broader horizons
for indoor and outdoor display with 62-inch wide output---the
widest offered yet by a major player in today's color
display market. Easy to use, this printer bring exceptional
image quality to customers who demand high-quality color
output. Like the 3043 printer, it offers six-ink printing
for specific application needs: light cyan and light
magenta inks for reduced dot visibility and improved
skin tones; orange and green pigmented inks for increased
color gamut and reduced ink laydown.

FAQs
- What media is compatible
with my 3000 series printer?
A wide range of Kodak Professional media has been
tested and certified for use with your Kodak Professional
3000 series inkjet printer. We are continually introducing
new and improved media, so please contact your Kodak
Professional dealer for the latest listing of compatible
media. You may also visit our web site for an up-to-date
media
compatibility chart.
- How often
do I need to replace the media cutter blade?
Depending on the media types used, the frequency of
replacing the media cutter blade will vary. A media
cutter blade should be replaced approximately every
1,000 cuts or when irregular edges are observed. Dust
that collects on the cutter blade edge and in the
cutter slot can also cause irregular edges. Frequent
cleaning of dust build-up on the cutter blade edge
and the cutter slot is recommended.
In addition, do not use the media
cutter blade to cut media that is thicker than 8
mils (0.2 mm). To verify the media thickness, check
the media's specifications. Use the controls in
your Raster Image Processor (RIP) software to disable
the media cutter blade when printing on media types
that are thicker than 8 mil (0.2 mm).
- What consumable
items am I responsible for replacing?

- The roll media
in my printer is skewing as it passes through the
printer. What can I do to correct this?
First, inspect the plastic end cap on the left orfixed
flange side of the scroller. If it is damaged, replace
the scroller.
Next, check that the media is loaded
properly. The following steps indicate the correct
way to load the media.
- Open the printer cover.
- Load the media on the scoller.
- Load the scroller into the printer.
- Place the Media Hold lever in the
up position (media released).
- Feed the media through the printer.
- Align the right edge of the media
with the baseline holes in the platen and pull
approximately 30 inches of media from the front
of the printer.
- Go behind the printer and manually
turn the scroller to wind the media back onto
the roll until about 3 inches of media hangs from
the front of the printer.
- Lower the Media Hold lever and
close the cover.
- After the printer has completed
its media detection sequence, check that the right
edge of the media is nearly in the same position
with the baseline holes as it was when you began
the loading procedure. If it has shifted significantly,
adjust the scroller receiver screw until the media
doesn't shift significantly.
- After loading new
media I get an UNDEFINED PAPER error. What am I doing
wrong?
When new media is loaded, the printer checks the media
alignment on both the right and left sides of the
printer. The right side of the media must be aligned
with the baseline holes on the right side of the printer.
The left side of the media must be aligned under a
pressure roller on the left side of the printer. Both
alignment checks allow +/- .25 in. (5 mm). If either
alignment is not correct within the +/- .25 in. (5
mm) allowance, the UNDEFINED PAPER error will occur.
To correct this condition, lift the Media Hold lever
and realign the media to be within the tolerances
on each side.
- Sometimes the Media
Hold lever will not operate. What am I doing wrong?
This happens when the printing head fails to fully
return to the capping station, causing the paper loading
lever to become inoperable. To regain use of the lever,
manually push the head fully on to the capping station.
You will then be able to release the lever.
- Why does the
print head on the printer pause between passes?
The print head pauses when it has completed a pass
and does not have image data to complete the next
pass. The print head may also pause between passes
due to data rate constraints imposed by your system
configuration. Data rates may be constrained by one
or more system components, including Printer Mode,
RIP software, the host computer hardware configuration,
and the data communication method (Parallel, or TCP/IP).
